A report of a stolen Kubota Micro Excavator came in after it had been stolen the night before. We didn’t have a GPS location on the stolen vehicle, indicating that it’s hidden in a van or container but our technology gave us a rough idea where it was so we immediately sent one of our Investigators to the location to locate the machine.
On arrival at the scene, our Investigator picked up a strong signal from the homing beacon but after a scene assessment, requested the local Police attend as the suspected thieves were in the vicinity which ruled out a thorough search. As West Midlands Police approached, our technology indicated that the excavator was now being moved. As our Investigator moved to a less-populated area, he spotted a van with a micro excavator at the front. Shortly after the possible visual identification, the Police arrived to give us safe passage to the excavator that we quickly identified as the stolen machine.
The machine had been searched for traditional tracking devices as evidenced by removed panels and trim that normally hide telemetry. The customer was informed of the successful find and recovered the machine shortly after.
