It was reported to us by our customer that a theft had occurred overnight of a Kubota Mini Excavator. As the excavator was covered by our CanTrack Protect technology, tracking was easy for our Investigators.
Due to the location, Essex Police were notified. Our investigators joined the police at the location of the Mini Excavator. The police spoke to the owner of the premises. He had bought the Mini Excavator and then had it delivered to his home. He was unaware that it was a stolen unit and had very little detail regarding the purchase.
If someone turns up at your site with a piece of machinery that they are willing to sell for cash, it’s probably stolen. Handling stolen goods is a crime, as such Essex Police are following up their investigations on this theft.
The Police recovered the excavator for forensic investigations. On completion of these investigations, the Kubota Mini Excavator will be returned to the customer.
